The International Conference on Quantum Communications, Networking, and Computing (QCNC 2025) was held in Nara, Japan, from 31 March to 2 April 2025, with more than 110 presentations on #quantumcommunications and #quantuminternet.

At the three-day event, László Bacsárdi, associate professor at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informatics of BME, represented the Budapest University of Technology and Economics and the QCIHungary project.

In his presentation “From Free-Space Quantum Communication Systems to Satellite-based Networks” (co-authored by András Mihály and Kitti Oláh, both from the Department of Network Systems and Services at BME), he presented the major milestones of the QCIHungary project, the free-space QKD developments at the BME and the research on satellite quantum internet.
