Hungary’s NOG (Network Operator Group) conference was held on 9-10 October 2024 in Inárcs, Hungary, from 9 to 10 October, organised by ISZT (Internet Service Providers Council Scientific Association). On the second day the QCIHungary project was discussed in two presentations.
In their presentation “Quantum communication: market trends and implementation challenges”, László Bacsárdi (BME Network Systems and Services Department) and Emil Babics (Magyar Telekom) spoke about the developments of quantum-based key distribution in Hungary and the experiences gained in the testing so far, also referring to the cooperation in the QCIHungary project.
In his presentation “QCIHungary project tasks and the European EuroQCI cooperation”, János Mohácsi (KIFÜ – Governmental Agency for IT Development) presented in detail the European efforts leading to the establishment of the European Quantum Communication Infrastructure (EuroQCI) and described the main objectives and developments of the Hungarian QCIHungary project.
